The government of Ontario and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation have authorized Gateway Casinos and Entertainment to move its casino in Innisfil, Ontario, to a different location within the town.
OLG stated that Gateway needs to obtain all necessary municipal approvals prior to starting construction.
Gateway announced last year its plans to relocate the casino to a location close to the Cookstown Mall site.
The municipality backs the initiative, but both the municipality and Gateway are still awaiting a ministerial zoning order (MZO) from the Ontario government before construction can commence.
In Ontario, OLG oversees and operates gaming for the provincial government, which includes casinos. Gateway Casinos Innisfil and the Georgian Downs racetrack are among the eight establishments owned by OLG, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd., and Great Canadian Entertainment.
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd. resides in Burnaby, B.C., and manages 31 gaming venues across British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.
The Innisfil location features over 1,000 slot machines, 26 live table games, and electronic tables for roulette and blackjack.
OLG disburses gaming revenue installment payments to the 29 Ontario municipalities hosting terrestrial gaming establishments every quarter.
Payments are determined by a tiered structure of slot machine earnings, along with a portion of table game and sportsbook revenue for sites providing those options.
According to the agreement, municipalities obtain 5.25 percent on the initial $65 million of slot revenue, 3.0 percent on the following $135 million of slot revenue, 2.5 percent on the subsequent $300 million of slot revenue, 0.5 percent on any slot revenue exceeding $500 million, as well as 4.0 percent of table game revenue (if relevant) and 4.0 percent of sportsbook revenue (if relevant).
The funds assist in sustaining local initiatives and essential infrastructure, which in turn fosters job creation.
OLG has just revealed Q4 FY25 payments to municipalities where casinos are located – Innisfil received $1,292,539 in Q4, totaling $114,268,382 since the facility opened in November 2001.
Recent reports indicate that Gateway aims to initiate construction on the new Reive Boulevard facility in either 2025 or 2026. A representative from Gateway stated in recent reports that the company is eager to enhance its dining, gaming, and entertainment options at the new site.
Casino.org contacted Gateway for a response but did not receive a reply.
Promoted casinos refer to online gambling platforms that are actively marketed and recommended by various sources, including websites, affiliates, and influencers. These casinos often feature prominently in advertisements and top lists due to their attractive offers, high-quality games, and reputable services.
Instead of having to go to a real casino, players may enjoy their favorite games whenever they want, from any location. Those who reside far away from a land-based casino or have hectic schedules will find this particularly enticing.
In comparison to land-based casinos, online casinos frequently have a greater selection of games. This covers many kinds of table games, live dealer games, slots, and specialty games.
The security and anonymity that come with playing online are valued by many players. Without the possible distractions or social pressure of actual casinos, they can play their favorite games.
Numerous payment options are available at online casinos, including bank transfers, e-wallets, credit/debit cards, and even cryptocurrency. It is simpler for players to deposit and withdraw money thanks to this flexibility.
